Would
you still love me if you really knew me? If I showed you the scars on my chest,
the blisters on my feet? If I ran away and swore I was never coming back, would
you wait for me? If I knocked on the door with sopping wet hair and sticky
tears would you let me in? If I drank too fast would you hold my hair back
while I threw up? If you told me you loved me and I asked why would you still
feel the same? If I asked you to pull over and move the dead fox off the
highway would you call me unhinged? Would you pull over? If I lost the key to
your place would you print me a new one? If I rolled up the cuffs of my jeans
to show you the scabs on my knees, would you sing to them? If I cut my bangs
too short would you pretend not to notice? If I told you about my dad and the
drugs and the sirens would you run off? If I told you I never needed you
anyways would you prove me wrong? If I lay in the driveway as the rain poured
down, would you lay by my side? If you saw the callouses on my hands would you
still hold them? The cracks on my lips, would you still kiss them? If I told
you he hurt me would you believe me? If I told you I was godless, would you
still worship me? If I refused to take your last name would you still want to
marry me? If I left you at the altar, would you chase after me? If I dared you
to love me anyways, would you?
